    Erin's Career

    The Beginning

    • Erin Osteen began riding at nine years old in Orange County, California.

    • She began competing in Three-Day Eventing, Pony Hunters, and Dressage. She qualified for the Arabian Horse Association's national competition at second level; placing in the top 5 at regionals before the age of 15.

    • Year long program at the Talland School of Equitation in England.

    • Trained with Leo Glatz, former Reitmaster of the Landgestuet Marbach, a German government sponsored training and breeding facility

    Accomplishments & Credentials

    • Graduated at top of her class and was awarded the designation of Certified Trainer by the British Horse Society.

    • Earned her National Trainer certification issued by German Equestrian Federation, qualifying her to train and teach beginners to FEI.

    • Training and clinics with German training masters Stephan Kiesewetter and Peter Borggreve, as well as U.S. "O" (Olympic level) judge Alex Steiner, and FEI competitor David Wightman.

    •  She has brought along  many California Dressage Society (CDS) junior champions and is active in  the Orange County Interscholastic Equestrian League (OCIEL) program  with her students where she twice earned the honor of Trainer of the  Year.

    Goal as a Trainer

A horse’s affection can be elicited with kindness, but  their respect  can only be earned.   Horses respect people who train them confidently  and well, with a seat that feels harmoniously in tune with the horse’s  body; who communicates with peaceful command, and who encourages the  horse to develop while never pushing them too far.

As a dressage trainer, Erin strives to  create a harmonious relationship between rider and horse.

Through her systematic training philosophy, she believes it is most important to bestow positive experiences upon the horse, which creates optimal conditions for horse and rider to experience this relationship.
